newbie questions

hi, i have a integra LS and I just got my JRSC recently...i'm planning to get it installed within a month or so (it's been a busy few weeks)...anyways, before i do that i was wondering if there's anything else i should upgrade. currently, i only have a filter on a stick. should i go ahead and do the whole shebang and get headers and/or a catback system? do i need a better muffler or should i just stay with the stock exhaust system (and save the money for something else like suspension)? what else is recommended? i got the fuel pump already...sorry for the long post. i'm no mechanic and i've found this forum to be quite informative. future thanks for all responses.

You don't really need anything else. Go ahead and put the SC on, then later on down the road you have something to look forward to like headers and exhaust. I think that would be more fun than doing everything at once. Get used to the SC, and then get a little more bang out of it, that way every few months you have a new reason to WANT to drive the car smile

thanks for the reply! is a catback system worth it for a supercharged integra? or would better muffler do? will headers give some improvement?

From what I've seen most headers show little improvement over the stock unit at 6 psi. At higher psi/HP levels is where they show there worth. Get the exhaust that will be good for some extra ponies. Then put some money into the suspension to get it to the ground. The header can wait until you're making more power.

I would get colder plugs. I had mine JRSC on my 95 LS done this Monday and I put in ZFR7F-11s in (ZFR5F-11 are stock.) Even with that, I checked the next day and the plug was sulphuris yellow (indicating a sudden rise in temp?) and I thought about getting even colder ones (I ended up changing them again and now it's a nice brown tan)

Plus, the mechanic had to take out the stock rubber intake tube and make one up with $10 worth of pipes. This was because the throttle body is now a couple of inches closer to the front of the car and to the passenger side. I was wondering if the GSR guys had this problem too? If so, what filter on a stick (or CAI) would fit without any mods? My intake looks ok right now but not awesome.

The mechanic also informed me of a slight problem during install. Something to do with the throttle getting stuck at 4000rpm even though no one is stepping on the gas. A bypass problem (getting boost even at idle) I guess? Anyway he got instructions from Keith in JR to fix it.

, it's running great! After I/H/E and other minor mods, this is definitely one mod you don't need to use butt dyno to know ur going faster! smile

redintegra: where do i get these plugs? i'm getting my JRSC install at JR soon. if i need these, i want to get them before the installation. what's the brand and part no. and where can i get them? thanks.
